Kat Says: McFly!

I will post twice tomorrow, just for you. I am sorry I didn't post yesterday; I remembered all day and kept telling myself to write it there as I had my friend over in the evening but I forgot. Obviously.

But today, here and now, I am here to talk to you about McFly.

My world, my life, my everything.
I don't know how the hell I am meant to write a blog post about McFly! They mean everything to me. I have only been a fan since the end of 2007 (Woah is the end of this year really 5 years of being a fan!? Woah!) but that doesn't mean anything. It doesn't mean that I am any less of a fan than the people who have been there since day 1.

Okay so how I came across to liking McFly. That's a good place to start. I never used to love music when I was younger, never really listened to any unless it just happened to be on the TV or something. I did have a few CD's and then I found Busted and really liked them. This was in about 2004/2005. I wasn't a 'fan' as I would say now, I just really liked their music. And then I heard and saw the video for 5 Colours In Her Hair and hated it and hated McFly. They were just copying Busted, right.

That's what I thought then. But I couldn't be more wrong.

I then somehow changed my mind about the song. I still thought that they were copying Busted but I quite liked the song. Me and my friend made up a dance for it. I still remember it to this day. It is hilarious. I don't really remember listening to any other of the songs much; just 5 Colours (Probably because it was the only one I had on CD...it was a Childrens Party CD or a Now! CD or something or other).

Then in like October or November 2007 I was sat on my floor making cards (awesome child, right.) with the music channel on (I was a bit more into music by now but nothing compared to what I am now) and then something like McFly's 50 Top Pop Songs or whatever it was came on and I was like 'these guys are actually quite funny' and then they played one of their songs and I was hooked again. In the advert, they advertised their Greatest Hits DVD and I went straight downstairs and told my mum that that was what I wanted my Greatnan to get me for Christmas. And so she did. Christmas evening I put the DVD on and watched the music videos whilst going through all my other presents.

The next day I was going with my best friend to see a panto and it was like 20 minutes before and I had an image in my head. It was Dougie with his weird 'paperboy' hat on from Transylvania but I couldn't remember the song so I went and found out what song it was. I then listened to that over and over again. I also got my iPod that year and I put like all of my brothers CD's on there as I had like no music. But he then got me a load of McFly songs so I was happy :D

That's all I remember about how it started really.

I cannot think about how my life would be without the four guys in my life. I have seen them 5 times live, my 6th time will be next month. I have met them once. Wow that was the best day of my life. And yes I cried. And only at Tom.

Which brings me onto the next thing that I can talk about. My favourite member. I think I Googled McFly and just looked at photos and their Wikipedia page and decided I liked Tom. I liked the blondeness I think (even though weirdly I prefer brunettes with light eyes. And Tom is the complete opposite. Weird.). But then after watching the video for All About You I decided I liked Harry. And Harry was my favourite. For a day. Then it went back to Tom and it was tom all the way. Wahoo! <3

My Facebook name is Laura Jade 'Fletcher' and I can't change it due to changing it so many times. I told my friend at college the other day that I wanted to change my name and she asked me why. I told her it was because I didn't like my name. And I hated my last name. She went 'What, Fletcher?' and I laughed so much. She didn't understand why until I told her that wasn't actually my last name. To which she asked another girl in my class, who is also a huge McFly fan (I'll go onto that in a minute), 'did you know that Laura's last name isn't actually Fletcher!?' and she said yes :') oh dear. Stupid.

Okay so when I started this course we had to go into pairs and tell each other 1 interesting thing about ourselves for them then to tell the rest of the class. I was in a group of 3 due to uneven numbers and I didn't want to mention McFly so I said that I was naturally blonde, which they didn't even believe. When it came to this one girl, her paired person went 'This is ___ and she is a McFly fan' and I just stared at her for near enough the rest of the day. I was going to go and speak to her but for some reason I was too shy to. So I added her on Facebook and did it that was.

McFly friends. I have met the most amazing people thanks to McFly. If it wasn't for McFly; I wouldn't be doing 'Kat Says' on Saturdays on this blog this year. I met Kat thanks to McFly. We were both McFly fans on Twitter, found each other some way or another and then started talking about the Chuckle Brothers and then McFly. I am going to see McFly with her next month actually :D Excitement! I have also met tonnes of other amazing people thanks to McFly. Last year I got to meet in real life my friend Silke who is from Belgium who I met on Twitter. There are so many people of whom I have met on Twitter that I have to meet in my life. I've met McFly, that's one dream done. Now I need to accomplish the other dreams of meeting my friends in real life.

I have just realised that I haven't even talked about the music side to McFly much, have I :') Due to Twitter and the guys tweeting a lot, I sometimes forget that they are musicians. I just feel as if they are normal people who tweet funny, normal, a-lot-of-the-time-not-interesting tweets. But they aren't just that. They are extremely talented, down to earth musicians. I can't talk much about their music, after 5 albums and a hell of a lot of songs, I don't really know what I am meant to say. My favourite song is Star Girl. My favourite album is Radio:ACTIVE. My least favourite song is All About You. My favourite music video is Shine A Light or Star Girl. My least favourite music video is The Balad Of Paul K. My favourite member is Tom. My favourite McCouple is Tiovanna. My favourite McFly Coupling is Pudd. My order of guys is Tom, Harry, Dougie, Danny. Yet, in real life, after meeting them, my order changed to Tom, Dougie, Danny, Harry. It was just a vibe I got from the guys. But I fucking love Harry's arms. And he doesn't get enough love.

It is also weird that all of my bestest McFly friends favourite member is Tom, too. We don't fight over him either. God, that would be immature. They all know that he is mine anyway.
