I love Michael McIntrye.
If you don't know who he is then YouTube him and watch something.
He is a comedian.
I used to find him funny but since reading his book, I am seeing him in a new light.
He is hilarious. Utterly, utterly hilarious.
It also shows how much he has worked to get to where he is currently in his career. He has worked for his Celebrity status. The only other autobiographies I have read are Katie Price's. All three of them.
I don't even like Katie Price so don't ask me why I have read her autobiographies. But they are good. Yet after reading Michael McIntyre's book it made me really dislike Katie even more. I mean, how hard has her life really been? She's had it easy really. And she hasn't done anything to gain her Celebrity status. She is just famous for being famous and those people I hate.
So back to Michael McIntrye.
His book draws you in from the start.
He starts off in the present day of him starting to write the book before going back to his childhood. Despite being a comedians autobiography, I wasn't expecting it to be as funny as it was. Yet sometimes I had to put the book down as I was laughing so much.
There are also one very sad part of the book where for near enough the whole chapter he doesn't joke about anything. I so nearly cried when I read it but then I read the beginning of the next chapter and was in stitches. He had written a joke straight after writing a really upsetting chapter.
He ends each chapter making you want to read on. He also makes up a lot, but then announces that that wasn't infact true. Which makes the book even more amusing.
He's had it hard. It has taken him a long time to get to where he currently is and the book shows this aslong with sharing some personal memories of his childhood, teenage life and adult life.
It is such a great read and I read it within 3 days. It was a hard-to-put-down book which I highly recommend for any Michael McIntyre fan. Or just anyone who is ready for a laugh.
