Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012

You can probably guess what this post is goof to be about. But I just wanted to note how great this year has been. Despite loosing two people who I cared so much about within 10 days of each other, this year has been the best year of my life so far. The end of September and the beginning of October were awful but the rest of the year couldn't have been much better. I finished school with some not to bad GCSE's and I started college. College is great. There are only 10 of us and we have got to known each other quickly. I went and saw McFly at Wembley in April with my mum and yet again, they were amazing <3 not only were they amazing, but I met Silke which made her my first McFriend o meet IRL :D I then went to watch Dancing On Ice with Amy and her mum and aunt up in Birmingham which was great. I also went on holiday to Cornwall with Amy and her mum which was nice. We also went to London Zoo. And I saw Wicked again with Any, Robyn and Liv. Mum, Sheena, Jade and I also all went to London and went to Ripleys which was awesome! 2011 was also the year that I found Charlie and Alex and I don't know how I would be able to cope without them or YouTube nowadays. And Sopio. I also went to EuroDisney with Sheena and Jade which was fun. I also went with Amy and Carol to see Russell Howard lice. Which brings me nicely onto the next highlight, realising how much I actually loved Russ. Now the ultimate highlight of the year. Meeting my heroes. So far the best day of my life ever.

But next year...next year is likely to top this year off so although I am not looking forward to saying goodbye to 2011, I am looking forward to saying hello to 2012. Next year I am meeting Kat, one of my best mates. I am seeing the Chuckle Brothers live with her. I will complete my first year of college and decide whether I want to go to uni, decide on my future. I am going to see McFly twice. Once with my mum and again a month later with Kat. And i still have the rest of the year to compete with this year. I am hopefully going to meet McFly again. I want to go and see Matilda at the West End and I want to go an visit Kat in the summer. I an also going to have al little cousin next year. I am so excited about everything. I am also going to blog more. I do love blogging, I cant wait to go back and read this when i am older and laugh at myself.

Dear 365

So it seems like I posted this and then deleted it or something :/ or maybe I just didn't even post it :') This was from the beginning of last month when I finished my 365 project :)

Dear 365, ANOTHER YEAR OVER, BEEN FUN BUT HOWEVER. IT HASN’T BEEN EASY, OH NO WHATSOEVER. I remember starting you on the 31^st of October 2010. I enjoyed taking that photo and had been thinking about starting you for a while and so had planned photo number 1 beforehand. My 2^nd photo was taken on the 3^rd of November. Yes so I missed out 2 days. But those were the only two days I actually missed out. A few days were close ones and I remembered at half 11 at night about you and so took crappy photos. But they were still photos, right? A couple of the photos didn’t actually include parts of me as I had forgotten to take a photo that day – well, not ‘forgotten’ as such. On Day 43 for instance, I went to London and forgot to take my camera so it worked really well in taking my photo for that day. And Day 263 which was my last day of holiday and my camera died. Okay so I did have my other camera on me…but no I didn’t forget. I thought I had actually taken one…but my memory is awful…as I hadn’t taken one at all. I’ve learnt a lot over the past year, thanks to you. I’ve learnt that taking photos every day for a year of yourself is actually a lot harder than you think. Especially when you are me and are so negative about your own work. I’ve had a lot of failures of photos which just either didn’t turn out right or I just didn’t like for different reasons. I actually haven’t had that many photos which I uploaded that I wasn’t proud of which is impressive of me as I am not usually proud of anything that I do. I’ve learnt that people appreciate my work and look forward to seeing new photos of mine. I’ve learnt how to do stop frame animations. Okay so that was a task for college, but I must have enjoyed it and thought it worthy enough to be in my 365 twice, right? I’ve realised my true love of skittles. I’ve realised how much I can write about my life just from a photograph. I’ve learnt how much I love to blog. I found a way of being able to write on my hands without my mum being able to tell me off! ‘Oh mum it was for my 365’ has been a common excuse over the past year and I’ll miss being able to say that. I’ve learnt to look at the simple things in my life in another way so that I could integrate them into my 365. I’ve learnt that I rely heavily on Picnik. I’ve learnt that I have quite a vivid imagination. It is honestly hard to come up with ideas for 365 consecutive days of what to take photos of. I’ve had moments (near the beginning) when I thought of giving up. When I thought there wasn’t a point to what I was doing. To be honest, no there was no point to what I did. But it’s been fun and a laugh. An achievement to myself. So many times I’ve been out and I’ve gone ‘Oh I must take my 365!’ Well – 3 6 5 as I refer to it as :’) I’ve been asked on many occasions what my favourite photo of mine so far has been and to be honest – I don’t have one. It is so hard to choose. I am proud of nearly every single photo that I took. I believe that I have changed over the last year due to you, 365. My photos have changed dramatically I feel and my imagination has been put to the ultimate test.

365 you’ve been on a huge journey with me. You’ve experienced the some of the highest highs of my life, and also some of the lowest moments. You’ve been there when I found my love for Charlie and Alex. You’ve been there when I met McFly. You’ve been there for many photos of my hair. You’ve been there for far too many photos of my hand. My left hand to be precise. You’ve been there for far too many Sopio moments. You were there for my holiday with Amy. You’ve experienced both my curly hair and my straight hair. You’ve seen my different hair colours. You’ve seen how excited I can get over the simplest things such as a Kinder Egg and a saucepan. You’ve experienced not enough Tom Fletcher for my liking – but oh well. You’ve helped me capture my strange little world in just 365 photos. Thank you for everything.

It’s been fun whilst it lasted 365, but our time has unfortunately come to an end. Maybe I will return in the future but for now,

Book Review - Kinda...

I've finished another book.
So techincally I need to write two book reviews.
But I cba.

So:
Past Secrets by Cathy Kelly. Good book, takes a little while to get into. Different mini stories kind of in one (follows the lives of 3 different families...). Didn't care so much about one of the families though...good book all in all though, need patience though.

Game Over by Adele Parks. Great book, annoying ending. Yelled at the main character Cas a few times for being so annoying. But great book overall.

Ranting.

McFlyers are doing my head in.
Firstly: they are going 'Meet and Greets for us who pay monthly or are annual subscribers'.
McFly have done it fairly. They have given people the choice. Either pay an extra £29 and get to go to the Meet and Greets. Or don't pay the extra and don't get to go. I think that's pretty fair to be honest. You get other advantages of paying the extra £29 and being a 'Annual Plus' and I think tbh it's pretty much worth it just to get to meet the guys again.

They've done a lot for their fans really and I don't think some people are appreciating everything they've done enough. I understand the whole money situation. I've been saving for the renewal of my subscription for months now but now seeing as I have a job, I can afford it. I know that some people can't, I understand that. But please stop complaining. It's not McFly's fault. They're not going to charge nothing for the website and the content we get. The videos which are uploaded are amazing. They've captured their life and given us more of an insight to the guys we love but some people are just being ungrateful and saying that we shouldn't have to pay. And to not pay anything and get a free M&G? I would feel selfish to be honest if that was the case. Okay I understand that last year if you were an annual pioneer and paid the £40 you got the M&G but they've got to change some things...

Secondly: 'I remember when we didn't have to pay £70 to be a McFly fan'
Ungrateful cow.
No one says you are not a fan if you don't play the £70, did they? Yeah beforehand you might have not had to pay £70 but beforehand you wouldn't have got all the video footage, the webchats (which I admit, have slacked majorly...), priority seating at gigs, the chance to meet the guys.

You fucking make a website that everyone will like. You see how fucking hard it has to be. Not everyone is going to like what they do. There are parts of the site I really like yet parts which annoy me but overall it is much better than the previous one.

Someone else also tweeted 'Why do we have to pay to be McFly fans? We all love them just the same, no matter how much money we spend on them!'

NO ONE SAY YOU HAD TO PAY TO BE A MCFLY FAN. DON'T PAY. THAT'S FINE. YOU CAN STILL GO TO THEIR CONCERTS AND LISTEN TO THEIR MUSIC AND TWEET THEM AND ALL THAT. YOU JUST DON'T GET EXTRA VIDEO CONTENT AND THE OTHER STUFF WHICH THEY DON'T HAVE TO GIVE US. BUT THEY KINDLY ARE. YES WE PAY FOR IT. BUT THEY DON'T HAVE TO GIVE US ANYTHING TO BE HONEST. SOME BANDS/MUSICIANS ARE CAUGHT UP IN THE FAME AND DON'T COMMUNICATE WITH THEIR FANS AT ALL. MCFLYERS ARE LUCKY. MCFLY LOVE THEIR FANS TO PIECES. SO WHAT IF YOU DON'T PAY FOR THE WEBSITE. YOU'RE STILL A FAN. YOU JUST LOOSE OUT ON A FEW THINGS. THE VIDEOS END UP ON YOUTUBE ANYWAY, EVEN THOUGH I BELIEVE THAT'S WRONG BUT THAT'S A WHOLE DIFFERENT RANT. JUST GET OVER IT. Up To Date...again

Been lacking in keeping things up to date...sorry...next year will be different, you'll find out in a while...

(PS I love the fact I say 'you' and stuff seeing as no one actually reads my blog...it's just something for me to look back on in a few years :') )

I've finished a book since reading Amanda's Wedding yet haven't reviewed it D: Oh dear! It was a good book too, I will get around to it before I finish the book I am currently reading...I've had so much on my mind recently I just kind of forgot about this and that...

Okay so I've started college. It's been really good and we've developed and printed a couple films already which has been fun - the film camera is blooming annoying though :') Everyone is lovely and this is my 5th week and I think I have made some great friends already.

I've started work. It's only a temp job on a Wednesday and Friday after college at CKW with mum but it's not that bad and the money is pretty darn good. This is my 4th week at that, I'm there until Christmas.

My greatnan sadly passed away on September 23rd which was awful but she is in a better place now and she will never be forgotten.

On the day of her funeral my dad phoned to tell me that his nan, my other greatnan, had passed away the previous night.

Thankfully that was the end of all the bad news *touch wood*

I hate not seeing Amy every day and am adjusting to the fact that most weeks I will only see her on a Thursday morning on the train journey to college and the fact I hardly ever speak to her on msn due to us being on a different times due to work which we've got to do and such...*sigh*

I'm going to see McFly again next year :D Hopefully twice. Once on the 7th March and then again on the 7th April. Well I will deffo be going on the 7th March which is down to Portsmouth and it's the first gig of the Up Close and Personal tour. And the 7th April is up in London and Kat is going to see if she'll be able to come down for it. xD So so so excited xD

I think that's mostly up to date on the important things...I'll try to keep more up to date in the future..

I've only got just over 20 days left of my 365 project and then it's NaNoWriMo time :') 50,000 words to write in November D: Oh dear!
But next year I'm going to be doing a 365 blog project.
So yes I will be updating this every day in 2012...not that much is going to happen. I just have to write something in here every day. Whether it's what happened that day, a story from when I was younger or something or a review of something or other. Whatever it is, I am going to try and do it :)

Boybands

I have never been a massive fan of boybands.
And before you say anything, McFly are not a boyband.
'A boy band (or boyband), in pop, rock, hip hop and R&B music, is loosely defined as a popular music act consisting of about 3-6 male performers. Despite the term "band", boy band members usually do not play musical instruments, either in recording sessions or on stage, although exceptions do exist.'
So yes, McFly are technically not a boyband. I also, with a couple exceptions, do not like girlbands either. I do like plenty of bands and it just so happens to be that they all play their own instruments (well apart from classic 90's groups such as Steps and S Club 7...) I just don't get on that well with boybands. I love McFly, obviously, and they play their own instruments. I like the Jonas Brothers, and they play their own instruments. I also love Scouting For Girls. And they play their own instruments. I also love(d) the Busted boys. I love Chameleon Circuit. But that's mainly due to who's in the band...but they do play their own instruments :')... I don't like Take That, but that's mainly to do with my loathing of Robbie Williams...I don't like boybands such as One Direction, JLS and The Wanted. A lot of people think though that I don't like them due to the competition they are to McFly. I don't give a shit about that to be honest. As long as McFly are making music and making their fans happy, they I, being a fan, am happy. I don't care that One Direction got a number 1 and McFly haven't in ages etc.

Okay 'hate' is a strong word. I love What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction, and can understand the attraction to them, but mneh...they're not for me. Same with The Wanted. I love Glad you came and again, I can see the attraction but I don't personally like them. JLS have had quite a few good tunes but again, not for me.

I guess I just love guys with guitars too much.

Random Question: The children are waiting! Please tell them the story about the bald frog with the wig:

Once upon a time there was a bald frog. He was born bald and his parent's told him that he was special. But when the bald frog went to school, he was bullied. All of the other frogs had hair! He was called names and once he got home after his first day, he cried to his mum and dad. He told them he hated school and hated being bald and wasn't going to go back to school. His parent's thought about the situation for a looong time before coming to a conclusion. They took bald frog down to the wig shop and bought him 7 different wigs! One for each day of the week! Bald frog was so excited for school the next day and he went in wearing one of his new wigs and he was never bullied again. Everyone wanted to be friends with bald frog - well, wig frog! (is it weird I really enjoyed writing this :') )

9/11

Wow, has it seriously been 10 years?
I was 6 when 9/11 happened and I never really understood or got told much about it but over the past few years on this date there have been a lot of TV documentaries about what happened and the aftermath of the plane crashes. These programs devastated me and I realized what a true disaster this had had upon the world, let alone America, or more specifically, New York. People lost their partners, their parents, their children due to this disastrous event which should never have happened.

There were a total of 2,996 deaths, including the 19 hijackers and 2,977 victims. The victims included 246 on the four planes (from which there were no survivors), 2,606 in New York City in the towers and on the ground, and 125 at the Pentagon. All the deaths in the attacks were civilians, except for 55 military personnel killed at the Pentagon.

It's so sad to think that 2,996 people lost their lives due to this. Well, 2,977 innocent people lost their lives to the stupid acts of some stupid terrorist hijackers.

I cannot put into words how angry those 19 people make me feel. They didn't only shorten the lives of nearly 3,000 people but they broke the hearts of thousands of loved ones. They killed the fathers of children who would never be able to meet their daddy. They destroyed a fricken hell of a lot.

My heart goes out today to everyone who lost someone in the Twin Tower attacks which took place 10 years ago.

Book Review - Amanda's Wedding

 

Amanda's Wedding - Jenny Colgan

Mel and Fran can't believe it when their old schoolfriend Amanda, Satan's very own PR girl, pulls off the ultimate publicity stunt in getting herself engages to a Scottish laird.

Who cates that Fraser McConnald has worn the same pair of Converse trainers for the last three years and that his castle is a pile of rubble with one Calor Gas heater - she'll be titled!

Something must be done...

Gentle, decent Fraser is clearly ignorant of her wiles, and Mel and Fran still smarting from the memory of all the mean things Amanda put them through in their days at Portmount Comprehensive, set out to sabotage this mismatch of the century.

So between fighting off the attentions of a love-crazed accountant, keeping Fran's deadly manoeubres with the opposite sex under control and trying to win her own war of love with the elusive but gorgeous Alex, Mel finds herself attending a wild Scottih stag night, a hen night from hell, and preparing for a wedding that's everything you'd wish on your worst enemy.

I've been reading this book for a while. Well, I read the first few chapters over a week or two and then over the past few days I've got really attatched to it. It is full of twists and I am pretty annoyed about the ending, but I did like it because there was an EPILOGUE which actually ended the book! If the book didn't have this, it would have made sense but I prefer the fact that it does have one.

The story is told from the POV from Mel. We are thrown straight into the story, her life and her relationship with other characters in the book. 

We a given a few flashbacks towards the start of the book to give more background to the book which if they didn't have, the book wouldn't make sense in parts. 

I mentioned that I didn't like the end of the book. Only because I wanted Mel to end up with one guy and thought that she was going to but she ended up with someone else. Otherwise, the ending of the book is perfect, one of the best endings which I have read for a long time.

I haven't really got much else to say about this book. It is really good, it does take a little while to get into it but it is worth it, and does have plenty of twists (one which I KNEW way before we found out ;) ). Worth reading :) xxx

Naming Things

Okay so I've got names for all my teddies and electrical/important/weird things...and I always forget them so rename them...so I've decided I'm going to keep track on here of there names!

This is my 'Big Camera' as I usually refer to it as. But it's name is Roo.

This is the tiger I (my mum) made. Well we got all the stuff in a pack and then stitched him together and stuffed him. See that's the thing. I called him Amy at first, after my best friend who loves tigers, but then I kept referring to him as a he...so he's now called Tigs.

This is 'Toffee Cookie Caramel' which is his full name but I just call him one of the three...because I like all three and get confused half of the time :')

This is Scrappy. I named him Scrappy because he reminded me of Scooby Doo. But smaller. He doesn't any more...but I love him a lot, despite him only having one eye...I've had him for 9/10 years :)

 

This is my laptop. He is called Leon. And I've just realised nearly all of my 'things' are boys... :')

 

This is my 'small camera' as I refer to it as. He is called Cameron...because he is a Camera - and is usually on...haha I'm so funny :')

 

This is Saskia. My dad got her for Easter for me a few years back. We went to Sainsburys and he asked me what my brother would like. So I picked out an Easter Egg. He asked me what I wanted. So I picked out Saskia.

 

This is Candyfloss. She is a Bear Factory bunny rabbit :) She talks too - which is why she actually lives at the end of my bed, because I used to roll over during the night and lean on her 'paw' and it used to scare the crap out of me when she used to say 'your my best friend' or 'i love you' or something :') I got her  about 3 or 4 years ago...she tends to live in her pj's nowadays though...

 

This is Tommy. My mum got him for me for valentines day last year. It took me ages to name him. This is the only teddy which I have which had a name on it's tag but I renamed them. His name was Roly but I didn't seem sure on it so I thought and thought and thought and then realised his name should be Tom (so it seems as if Tom is saying that he loves me loads and loads...) but then I changed it to Tommy :')

 

The pink duck is Sally McDuck and the orange duck is Martin Duckington Jr. The reason he is Martin Duckington Jr is because my friend Emily had an orange duck called Martin Duckington and then she bought some more and gave me this one. Before than however, Emily made Martin Duckington a facebook account and I married him on it. So that's why this little guy is called Martin Duckington Jr. He's our son :') But! Me and Martin got a divorce and then he moved to Sweden, and Sally McDuck is his adoptive mother. You'll see why in a minute she is called Sally, and also McDuck due to McFly.

 

This is Harry McDuck. He is Martin Duckington Jr's adoptive dad (I think I should spend less time coming up with story lines involving rubber ducks...) Now do you get it? Harry and Sally? 'When Harry met Sally' :P <3

 

My iPod is called Tabitha. And it's a boy. Long story short, I (in my head) say peoples name as if they were the other gender. Like Laura, Laurence. Daniel, Danielle. Harry, Harriet. But I couldn't think of an obvious one for Tom. So I gave him Tabitha. :') And so yeah...

 

My phone doesn't have a name, I don't like it enough to name it...

Got my GCSE results today.

Overall I am hip hop happy, I'm just not good at showing my emotions. I sound and look miserable but I'm not, I'm just pissed off with people who have done better than me saying that they have fucking failed.

I am soooo fucking happy with my photography result.

But now it's officially over.
I mean, apart from when I get my photography final piece, I will most likely never see Mr Ring again. He's been my Photography teacher for the past two years and has given me self confidence in my work, made me believe that I am actually too harsh on myself and that my work is infact good. Fuck that, amazing at times. He's also just a funny guy and an amazing photographer.

I'm also going to miss the whole photography lessons.
Everything about them. Liv, Sophie, Alice and dare I say it, even Tom?
So many fucking amazing memories from over the past 2 years from this subject and even though I'm taking photography in college, nothing is ever going to beat Photography at Bohunt...

Owls

I have recently accumulated a rather large obsession with owls.
And I have no idea why.
In a way, I blame Kayley Hyde - owlssayhooot - but then on the other hand, it was me who fell in love with the owl cushion and then just went on amazon, and typed in 'owl'.

I am currently on Accessorize, favouriting everything to do with owls which I like (a hell of a lot of stuff...) into a folder in my favourites called 'THINGSIWANT' so yeah... :')

Book Review - A Crowded Marriage

A Crowded Marriage - Catherine Alliott

There are three people in Imogen Cameron's marriage - herself, her husband, Alex, and their son, Rufus - and that's the way she likes it. But that's all about to change...

When the Cameron's his dire financial straits they're forced to leave London and accept Elenor Latimer's offer of a rent-free cottage on her country estate. Ordinarily, a free home in the country is not to be sniffed at but, as Elenor is Alex's beautiful and flirtatious ex, Imogen is very sniffy indeed.


Any with good reasons. Once installed into Shephard's Cottage, Imogen's life is suddenly full to bursting with surly locals, psychotic chickens, a maddening (if handsome) headmaster, mountains of manure, visits from the infuriatingly bossy vet, and Elenor, who seems to be glued to Alex's side.


As far as Imogen's concerned, two's a marriage, three's a family and this...well, this is just silly, someone's got to go. The question is who?


First things first, I have been reading this book since my last book review. To be honest, since last Sunday I had probably picked it up no more than 5 times. It took a long while to get into it. I was bored yesterday so was forcing myself to read it and at page 200, I was expecting something exciting to have happened. But nothing major.


The book does take a loooong time to get into, well it did for me, but there are some really exciting parts in the book.

It is full of humour however. The Cameron's arive on the farm, in their cottage, and an agreement to them living there means that they have to feed and look after the chickens and cows. However Imogen is a bit slow with this and keeps wondering why the chickens are attacking her...

And her and her son Rufus name the animals. The cows are called Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Princess Consuela Banana Hammock. This amused me so much, being a huge Friends fan myself :')

Anyway, like I've mentioned enough the book took a while to get into. However, I've been reading it most of today and last night and it's been hard to put down. The end of the chapters (after around page 250...) all make you want to read on, make you want to find out what happens next. There are a lot of mini cliffhangers in the book which make you want more which is good.

There are three things which shocked me in the book. One involves Imogen's sister, one involves Eleanor Latimer and the other involving Alex. The one which involved Alex I am actually impressed to say that I figured out just before we got told. I don't know how actually, I just thought about everything and sort of figured it out in my mind.

I actually felt at home a lot of the time with Imogen and Rufus, felt part of the family. Alex was hardly there due to work and I was made - weirdly - to feel as though I was part of the family.

Apart from the slow beginning, the only other fault I have with this book is the ending. I can understand that endings are hard to write, you've got to close up everything in a couple of pages. But I think most endings of books could do with an 'epilogue' of their lives a few years later, just really bringing the book to a close. Because the ending of this book makes me want more, I want to find out about Alex's life (which would be hard to write about seeing as the book is writen from Imogen's POV...but it still could be done), to find out how her sister and parents are, to find about her own life and friends.

It's hard to do a book review without giving too much away. I used to be good at these but I haven't done one in what feels like ages. Sorry!

Anyway overall, a good book to read but you must have a bit of patience with the beginning. If you must, do what I did and read the last page. I usually do this with books I can't get into that well as it makes me want to find out how that last page did actually become, the last page.

Cinema

Oh I went to the cinema two weeks ago.
Wow I didn't realise it was that long ago!
Any way I went and saw Cars 2 with my bestie on the 27th of last month.
It was pretty darn amazing to be honest.
I thought it was better than the 1st one due to the main character of the film being Mator, not Lighting McQueen, and I prefer Mator :')
One of my favourite parts of the film was actually when there was a race in Italy and they had The Pope as a car. In his car Pope-mobil :')
And they had The Queen as a car :')
Made me chuckle!

This Wednesday I'm going to see Mr Poppers Penguins with my mum.
Looking forward to it, looks good!
And then going to Pizza Express with her, J and Anna :)
